New Modern Warfare 3 KillStreaks and Perks Revealed

Here is a list of some of the new killstreaks and perks that have been released into MW3. I don't have all the information on some of them but it is likely they will get changed in some way before the game releases in early November. These first four are Team Perks which will be awarded to a specific team during the match. There may be more added at some point.

Stopping Power: Increased bullet damage.
Blast Shield: Not sure on the details just yet
Health Regeneration: Regenerate health over time.
Stun Protection: Prevents being stunned from flash grenades.

Some New perks coming to Modern Warfare 3 include:

Blind Eye: This makes you immune to computer and player-controlled killstreaks. Pro version increases your launchers lock on speed and grants extra bullet damage to vehicles.
Assassin: This makes you invisible to UAV, thermal, and heartbeat sensors. Pro version also makes you immune to CUAV, EMP and no longer displays your name in red or the crosshair in red when you're targeted.
Point Guard: Every two assists count as one kill towards your killstreak.
Dead Silence: You do not make any noise.
Recon: Grants a special radar to spot enemies, most likely. I'm not 100% sure on this one.

I haven't found out which of the previous perks will be making a return yet, but I'm sure there will be a few of them

There will also be several new killstreaks to employ in multiplayer. Here's the rundown on the latest thinking:

EMP Grenade: Temporarily takes out area electronics.
Littlebird: A small-manned helicopter that can controlled and used to gun down enemies.
Precision Airstrike: Calls in an airstrike on a targeted area.
Stealth bomber: Calls in a B2 Bomber to carpet bomb along a specified path.
Remote Turret: A remote controlled turret.
Directional UAV: A UAV that can be directed by the user into specific areas to scan for enemies.
Remote Mortar: Direct a mortar strike using a camera that zooms in on the map for precise strikes.
Airdrop Trap: A booby-trapped airdrop.
Ammo Resupply: An ammo reloading airdrop.
Escort Airdrop: A protected airdrop.
Specialist Strike Package: This one is a mystery so far.

While it's very likely that some killstreaks will added or removed, I have heard that they will be removing the Tactical Nuke Killstreak altogether.

Call of Duty Subscription Fee?

A few days ago I read that Activision would be introducing a subscription fee to the Modern Warfare Franchise and I thought On no! they finally are going to make us pay for playing Call of Duty online.

However, with a little further research it seems that it is a little more detailed than just an online fee. When you get your copy of Modern Warfare 3 you will have access to all the online features of the game including Spec-Ops. However there will be and extra version called Call of Duty Elite.

This is where the fee will come into play. If you want to pay the fee, which is said to be somewhere around or even less than the Netfilx 7.99 fee. You will get access to online bonus content like monthly map packs and social networking features not to mention a very detailed versions of stat tracking and performance charts.

This is good news that the subscription fee is optional for those of us who might not want to pay for the extra content. At least they are giving us a choice. On the other hand if the price is right it might be worth the extra pay if the quality of the content is exceptional .

Just remember that the feature is still in a infant stage and there could be and probably will be many more changes between now and when the game releases in early November.

Good News For PS3 Owners!

Over the past couple of years people have noticed that the two main versions of the Call of Duty series, Xbox 360 and PS3, have been somewhat different. The PS3 version has been sub-par to the Xbox version in several key issues. First of all the graphics were not nearly as good and we all know that the on-line experience was a lot more enjoyable on the 360 version. The PS3 version had way to many connection and server issues to be considered a great game.

However, recently some good news for PS3 owners has surfaced. When a Twitter user stated that "PS3 owners just want the same experience a Xbox owners" Infinity Wards own Robert Bowling added "I agree and ensuring that the PS3 version is equal to the Xbox 360 version of MW3 is very important to us in every way.” It's great to know that this version of Modern Warfare is going to be equal to the Xbox version, Hopefully!
